Crescenta Valley guard Adam Jacobsen has been named to the Division II All-Southern Section team.
Jacobsen, the section’s all-time leader in three-point field goals, is the area’s only representative on the first team. Ventura’s Darien Roberts is a second-team selection.
Jacobsen, who has accepted a scholarship from the University of Pacific, led the Falcons to a 22-5 record and the semifinals of the II-AA playoffs. He was a second-team selection in 1991 and first-team choice in 1992 at Glendora High. This season Jacobsen averaged 27.1 points, 5.4 rebounds and 4.3 assists. He made 99 three-pointers in 231 attempts, raising his Section-record total to 387.
Roberts averaged 16.8 points and led the Cougars to a 22-4 record and a Channel League championship. Roberts was co-most valuable player of the coaches’ All-Ventura County team.
North Hollywood High, expected to rank among the area’s best boys’ basketball teams in 1993-94, has accepted a bid to play in the Great Alaska High School Classic in Anchorage Nov. 21-24.
North Hollywood Coach Steve Miller said the field includes St. Raymond of Bronx, N.Y., the New York City parochial champion; Science Hill, Tenn., the state runner-up; and Griffin, Ga., the state runner-up.
Anchorage will be represented by East and West highs. Teams from Colony and Juneau, Alaska, also are entered.
The Huskies, who were 25-2 in 1992-93, have several players who will return next season, including All-City Section 4-A Division selections Fantasia Johnson and Damon Ollie, both juniors. Sophomore guard Arthur Lee and junior forward Romain Coleman also return.
