SPECIAL TO THE TIMES

The Wilson High girls’ basketball team won a Southern Section title this season with a balanced offense led by senior Katie Miner and junior Erin Massey.

The Wildcats, coached by Leo Wingett, epitomized teamwork, a concept most coaches spend months trying to teach.

Miner, who averaged 15 points, and Massey, who averaged 12, are among the 10 players who have been selected to The Times 1993 San Gabriel Valley all-star team. The players were selected from more than 50 high schools located from Alhambra to Pomona. They were selected based upon ballots received from area coaches, all of whom were asked to participate.
