Share

The Times’ 1993 South Coast High School All-Star Basketball Teams are composed of experienced players. Seven of the 10 members of the boys team and five members of the girls team are seniors.

Only one sophomore was selected--K.K. Johns of Poly, who is on the girls team.

Three boys repeat on the team, led by Jordan’s Everett Ratleff, who has signed to play at Cal State Long Beach. The other two are Rodney Malloy of Lynwood and Peter Sverkos of Wilson. Compton’s Jacobi Thompson, a transfer from Pius X, was a Times all-Southeast selection in 1992.

One player, USC-bound Shanika Porter of Paramount, returns on the girls team. Shannon Perry of Cerritos, a 1992 Southeast all-star, was chosen to the South Coast team this season.
