WEEKEND TV : Reassessing Waco, Bosnia, Gay Rights

The aftermath of the Branch Davidian standoff in Waco, Tex., the gay rights march in Washington, military intervention in Bosnia and sports will highlight Southern California’s weekend TV viewing menu.

On Sunday, CBS’ “Face the Nation” features a discussion on Russia and military options related to war-torn Bosnia-Herzegovina. Russian Foreign Minister Andre Kozyrev, Sen. Joseph R. Biden Jr. (D-Del.), former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger and former national security adviser Zbigniew Brzezinski will appear at 9 a.m. on Channel 2, 9:30 a.m. on Channel 8.

FBI Director William S. Sessions, David Koresh’s attorney Dick DeGuerin, former Secretary of Education William Bennett and journalist Randy Shilts are scheduled to appear on ABC’s “This Week With David Brinkley,” Sunday at 11 a.m. on Channels 7, 3, 10, 10:30 a.m. on Channel 42.

Also, Ross Perot will be interviewed on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Sunday at 7 a.m. on Channels 4 and 39, 8 a.m. Channel 36.

The National Football League will conduct its annual college draft from New York Sunday beginning at 9 a.m. on ESPN.

And, in baseball, the Dodgers play two games against the Philadelphia Phillies, Saturday at 4 p.m. and Sunday at 10:30 a.m. on KTLA Channel 5. The Boston Red Sox will visit the Angels Sunday at 5 p.m. on ESPN.
