Sunny Hills Tennis Upset by Seeding

Share

After being ranked first all season in the Southern Section coaches poll, Sunny Hills was a bit miffed to find that it had been seeded second in the Southern Section Division II boys’ team tennis pairings that were announced Tuesday.

The Freeway League champion Lancers (17-0), led by No. 1 singles player David Robbins, will play host to the Glendale Hoover-Encino Crespi winner in Tuesday’s first round at 3:15 p.m. North Hollywood Harvard-Westlake (13-2), which was ranked No. 1 in Monday’s final poll, is the top-seeded team.

“I don’t understand it,” Sunny Hills Coach Steve White said. “It’ll help us motivation-wise, though. Our goal is to win the CIF, no matter how we have to do it.”
