A 31-year-old woman was kidnaped, raped and robbed of $540 after driving into her apartment building’s security-coded underground garage in Glendale, police said Thursday.

The victim was taken to Glendale Memorial Hospital and Health Center, where she was treated and released, police said. Her attacker was described as being in his 20s and wearing a red short-sleeve shirt and dark pants.

The victim told police she was attacked upon arriving home from work in the 100 block of N. Kenwood Street at 2 a.m. Wednesday when the attack occurred. After she parked her vehicle in the underground garage, a man approached the driver’s side window and pulled out a handgun, police said.

The gunman demanded money, and the victim opened her door, fearing for her life. He climbed into the car and drove around for about 20 minutes, sifting through the woman’s wallet for money, threatening her life and covering her mouth, eyes and hands with duct tape. The man then sexually attacked her twice at an unknown location. He eventually left in another vehicle parked nearby. The victim was able to free her hands from the tape and drove to the police station.
