PREP NOTES : Irvine Water Polo Standout Zak Chooses Villanova

Peter Zak, an All-Sea View League water polo player for Irvine High, has signed a letter of intent with Villanova, his father, Dave Zak, said Wednesday.

Zak was Irvine’s leading scorer this past season and winner of the Pat Christie Award for excellence in play, dedication and sportsmanship.

Rosters for the girls’ team and nominations for the boys’ teams have been announced for the Orange County High School volleyball all-star games June 4 at Golden West College.

The girls’ match will begin at 6 p.m., followed by the boys’ match at approximately 7:30 p.m. Both matches will be best of three, with rally scoring in the third game.

Nominations for the boys’ roster must be confirmed through the players. Players nominated should contact Rick Johnsen at (714) 752-6151.
