WEEKEND TV : Hockey Finals, Mayoral Debate and the C. Lani Guinier Fallout

The weekend’s television menu will serve up a mayoral debate and Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals.

Michael Woo and Richard Riordan will meet in their second televised debate, which will be carried live by KCOP Channel 13 Sunday at 9 p.m. News anchor Ross Becker will moderate and newsmen Larry Attebery and Bryan Jenkins will direct questions to the candidates.

A third televised debate between the two men will be carried by KTTV Channel 11 on Monday at 6 p.m.

Today at 5:15 p.m., the Kings will try to regain the lead in their best-of-seven Stanley Cup Finals series against the Montreal Canadiens at the Forum.

The game will be aired on Prime Ticket and ESPN (ESPN’s coverage is subject to blackout).

President Clinton’s withdrawal of the nomination of C. Lani Guinier for the Justice Department’s top civil rights job will be a hot topic on the public affairs shows.
