Three Sites for ’94 Cup Are Sold Out

Three of the nine World Cup ’94 soccer venues sold out within hours of the start of the public sale during the weekend.

Tickets went on sale in Chicago and Washington on Saturday and the available tickets for the first round and the round of 16 were sold in four hours, according to World Cup officials.

In sales that began on Sunday, the ticket allocation for Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J., sold out in two hours.

About 300,000 tickets are available for this phase of the World Cup ticket sale. Sales for the Rose Bowl in Pasadena were said to be brisk.
