Suspects Sought in 2 Fatal Shootings
Los Angeles police were seeking the killers of two men who were shot to death in separate incidents in the Van Nuys area early Monday.
The first victim, a 37-year-old man, was found about 2 a.m. in the courtyard of his apartment complex in the 13700 block of Sylvan Street, Detective Phil Morritt said. The man, whose identity was not released because his family has not been located, had been shot numerous times and died after being transported to Holy Cross Hospital in Mission Hills.
Morritt said investigators believe the victim was shot during an argument with a roommate. The gunman then fled from the building and had not been arrested late Monday. His identity was not released.
About three hours after the first shooting, detectives were called to the 8100 block of Sepulveda Place, where the body of Brian D. Tureaud, 36, of Los Angeles, was found lying in the street. Tureaud had been shot to death. By late Monday, detectives had few clues to a motive or suspect in the killing, Morritt said.
