VENTURA : 2 Sought in Robbery of Man Near ATM
Ventura police are searching for two suspects in a strong-arm robbery near a Bank of America automated teller machine in which a 47-year-old man was followed, knocked down and robbed of $450.
William F. Evans of Ventura told police that the attack occurred about 7:50 p.m. Monday, less than a block from the ATM machine at South Borchard Drive and Main Street, where he had just made a withdrawal and placed the money in a canvass money pouch.
Ventura Detective Kevin Williams said ATM robberies are relatively rare in Ventura. Only a few cases have been reported in recent years.
