PRO FOOTBALL / DAILY REPORT : RAIDERS : Shell Looking for Perfect Attendance

Share

Wide receiver Willie Gault and linebacker Aaron Wallace practiced for the first time this season, leaving all but two players at camp in Oxnard. Only wide receiver Sam Graddy, who is still unsigned, and defensive end Howie Long, who wants to renegotiate his contract, are missing.

“Having all but two guys here is pretty good,” Raider Coach Art Shell said. “But it’s important to get them all here and get to work. Those guys are missing some good work.”

Shell said that in this camp “there is a different feeling that was not there last year or the year before.”

“Nobody really likes training camp, but the guys are having fun competing against each other,” he said.

The Raiders do not have any major injuries, but they do have several minor ones: Offensive lineman Steve Wright (shoulder), tight end Andrew Glover (ankle) and wide receiver Daryl Hobbs (hamstring) are expected to be sidelined at least a week.
