Woods Advances at USGA Junior
Two-time defending champion Tiger Woods of Cypress shot a 74 Wednesday for two-day total of 143 and was among the leaders of the 64 players who advanced to match play at the USGA Junior Amateur Championships at Portland, Ore.
Ted Oh, 16, shot a one-under-par 69 to win medalist honors by two strokes.
Oh, of Torrance, completed two rounds over the 6,465-yard Waverley Country Club course in par 140, two better than Ryan Chackel of Eugene, Ore., and first-round leader Rob McMillan of Canada.
Mission Viejo’s Zachary Allen, who shot 151, and Yorba Linda’s Chris Berry (152) each qualified for match play. The cut was 153.
Also advancing was Robert Floyd, 17, son of 1986 U.S. Open champion Raymond Floyd.

Defending champion Alicia Allison of Santa Ana shot 82 in the second round of the Betsy Rawls Championship and is 19 strokes behind leader Grace Park of Phoenix. Park has a two-over 146 total.
