For CBS, It’s as Easy as Falling Off a Bike
Way to go, CBS.
You purchase the rights to the Tour de France, a 22-day bicycle race that is a worldwide event, with the idea of condescending to provide fans in the United States with a whole 90-minute summary. Last year, ESPN carried one hour a day for three weeks.
Well, the big broadcast arrived Sunday and what did you do? Preempt 60 minutes of the 90-minute program with a delayed auto race.
If auto racing is so much more important, don’t bother to buy the rights to the Tour next time.
