Foundation Seeks Grant Applications
A Ventura County foundation that has in the past awarded more than half a million dollars in grants is accepting applications from local nonprofit agencies.
The Ventura County Community Foundation is planning this year to give $55,000 to youth and family services programs and other charitable organizations in the county, foundation President Kate McLean said.
Last year the foundation, which was formed in 1987, awarded $72,000 to 35 organizations, including the Boys & Girls Club of Ventura, the Simi Valley Free Clinic and Teatro Los Americas, a Spanish-language theater in Oxnard.
Applications for the 1993 grants are due by Sept. 13.
