An Hour a Week for Oak Park Library
There’s more than one way to skin a cat, or in this case, more than one way to do away with the Oak Park Library.
The new cutback in hours means that the library will be open one night a week until 7 p.m. Unfortunately, as a downtown L.A. commuter, I’m lucky to reach home by 7 p.m.
As I’m not the only Oak Park commuter, I can’t help but wonder how long we will have our library. Library resources are based on circulation and circulation is based on library availability.
An easy solution would be to keep the Oak Park Library open for just one more hour. If the almond growers in Fresno can ask for “just one can a week,” then I’d like to see the Oak Park residents ask for just one more hour a week.
