Body of Woman, 19, Identified
BUENA PARK — The woman found dead behind a Beach Boulevard motel this week has been identified as 19-year-old Sherri Lynn Robinson, who had been strangled, police said Tuesday.
Robinson, whose last known address was Portland, Ore., was killed between midnight and 2 a.m. Her body was found about 12 hours later by a gardener in the bushes behind the Crescent Motel at 8530 Beach Blvd., said Sgt. Terry Branum.
“We believe that she was killed at the motel,” Branum said. “But she was not registered as a guest there.”
Robinson was wearing only a blouse and bra. A small change purse containing some cigarettes and a few coins was found near her body. Police know little about the victim except that she was unemployed.
“We are doing a background check, trying to find out more about her,” Branum said. “We don’t have any witnesses.”
No arrests have been made.
