La Canada Flintridge : Vaccinations for Dogs

A low-cost rabies vaccination clinic for dogs is scheduled from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Foothill Intermediate School, 1100 Foothill Blvd.

A general six-in-one inoculation will also be available. The clinic is sponsored by the Southern California Veterinary Medical Assn. and the county Department of Animal Regulation.

State, county and city ordinances mandate that all dogs older than 4 months be vaccinated against rabies. Protection of pets against other canine diseases is not required by law, but the six-in-one shot is recommended for the well-being of the animal.

Rabies shots ($4) provide protection for one year for dogs 4 months to 11 months, and three years for dogs a year or older. The six-in-one shot ($9) provides protection for one year.
