Valley Babe Ruth Team to Open Regional Play

Van Nuys-Sherman Oaks will open play in the Babe Ruth Regional World Series today in Elk Grove near Sacramento.
Van Nuys-Sherman Oaks, an all-star team of area 14-year-olds, will play at 10:30 a.m. against an opponent to be determined. The team advanced with victories last weekend over Glendale (6-2), West Torrance (11-1) and Westchester (2-1 and 6-5).
The double-elimination tournament will conclude next Saturday.
