WEEKEND TV : Animal Rights, Civil Rights Are the Focus
The seventh annual Genesis Awards take to heart the adage “animals are people too,” honoring 24 works in film, music, art and the print and broadcast media for their animal rights themes.
Rue McClanahan, Earl Holliman and Mariette Hartley are the hosts for the show, which airs today at noon and 7 p.m. and Sunday at 4 p.m. on the Discovery Channel.
Discussions on the 30th anniversary of the civil rights march on Washington highlight the public affairs shows this weekend.
