Cricket
* Congratulations to William Tuohy on “Sticky Wicket for Britain’s Cricket Fans” (World Report, Aug. 17). It might interest your readers to know that in Los Angeles cricket is thriving because of the non-British players who have taken the game to new heights.
Woodley Avenue Park in Van Nuys is the home of cricket in Southern California and when the MCC team mentioned in the article played here last year they lost two of three games against local sides that were composed of Indians, Americans, West Indians, South Africans and Brits. Cricket will continue in the forefront of interracial sports along with soccer for the very reason that it allows players of all shapes, creeds and physiques to compete on a level playing field.
