OUTLOOK

Allen could have used running back/defensive back Geoff Noisy, but he transferred to Irvine after last football season. Allen is excited about having Cortez, a converted receiver, for the next two years. “Christian is one of the better athletes we have,” Allen said. “He really grew and threw well over the summer.” Allen said his offense won’t be anything fancy. “We’ve lived and died with the dive. We know how to do that well.”
