Oxnard police captured two men suspected of burglarizing a home and then fleeing after the resident confronted them inside, authorities said Friday.

Daniel Garcia Vasquez, 23, and Juan Gabriel Acosta, 23, both of Oxnard, were taken into custody about 11:30 p.m. Thursday and booked into County Jail.

Vasquez was released after posting bail Friday, but Acosta was being held without bail on suspicion of violating his state parole.

According to police, the men were caught after they broke into the home of Richard Hoskins in the 3600 block of Miramar Way. After Hoskins confronted the men and told them that police were on the way, the suspects ran outside just as Officer Joseph Johnson arrived, authorities said.

Authorities said the men fled in a car, but police spotted them a short time later. The suspects then fled on foot, but were caught, officials said.
