The Region : Transit Group Expands
The Tri-City Transportation Coalition, made up of representatives from Burbank, Glendale and Pasadena, has decided to change its name and expand its membership to include South Pasadena and La Canada Flintridge.
The coalition, which has a board of 21 members, was started in 1989 to address the transportation needs of the east-west corridor along the Ventura and Foothill freeways.
The board voted Sept. 9 to align itself with another regional council, the Arroyo-Verdugo Group, comprising Burbank, Glendale, La Canada Flintridge, Pasadena and South Pasadena. In addition, the board decided to invite involvement from representatives in Eagle Rock, La Crescenta and Altadena.
Burbank Mayor George Battey was elected as the new Tri-City chair, Glendale Councilwoman Eileen Givens as vice chair and Pasadena Vice Mayor Kathryn Nack as secretary-treasurer.
