PRO FOOTBALL / DAILY REPORT : AROUND THE NFL : Dolphins’ Cox Fined $10,000 for Gesture

Miami Dolphin linebacker Bryan Cox will appeal a $10,000 fine by the NFL for making obscene gestures to the crowd before Sunday’s game at Buffalo.

Miami Coach Don Shula had no objection to the fine, which was announced Wednesday. But Cox said his side of the story hasn’t been heard.

“The thing that beleaguers me is that at no time has the league come to me and said, ‘Why did you do this?’ ” said Cox, who had expressed his hatred for Buffalo last week. “If they did an investigation, it was a sloppy one at best.”
