PREP ROUNDUP : Mordock, Sitner Pace Villa Park

Jeremy Mordock and Phil Sitner tied for first for Villa Park, which beat Canyon, 21-38, in a Century League boys’ cross-country meet Thursday at Canyon High School.

The pair ran the 3.1-mile course in 16 minutes 30 seconds for the Spartans (2-1), who are ranked fifth in the Southern Section Division II poll.

Sunny Hills 23, Fullerton 37--Garritt Jansen covered three miles in 17:21 to lead Sunny Hills (1-0) at Union Oil Field.

Estancia 15, Laguna Beach 46--Johann Appell ran three miles in 16:34 as host Estancia (2-0) swept the top five positions.

Canyon 15, Villa Park 47--In a five-way tie, Allison Bunton, Megan Gillespie, Laura Flatauer, Kim Nelson and freshman Melissa Luque tied for first at 21:30 on the 3.1-mile course for Canyon (3-0).
