Ventura 45, Hueneme 11--Mike Lamey rushed 12 times for 128 yards and one touchdown and Aaron Davis gained 122 yards in 13 carries to lead the Cougars (3-1, 1-0) at Hueneme.
Davis’ 11-yard touchdown run late in the first quarter and Lamey’s 16-yard run early in the second quarter gave the Cougars a 16-0 lead midway through the second quarter.
Quarterback Erik Olson completed five of 10 passes for 93 yards and two touchdowns and scored on a three-yard run early in the third quarter. He connected with Ramsey Jay on a 34-yard touchdown pass and Davis with a 17-yard touchdown pass.
The Vikings’ only touchdown came on an 83-yard punt return by Ronnie Jenkins midway through the third quarter. Four minutes later Robert Ralston booted a 43-yard field goal. Hueneme (1-3, 0-1) had 120 yards of total offense.
