CITY SECTION FOOTBALL ROUNDUP : Price, Crenshaw Pace Sylmar, 27-0

Sylmar High fullback Durell Price rushed for 114 yards in six carries and scored two touchdowns to power the Spartans to a 27-0 victory over Monroe in a Valley Pac-8 Conference football game Friday night in Sepulveda.

Price scored on a 39-yard run in the first quarter and added a 24-yard score in the third. Tailback Tyrone Crenshaw added 104 yards in 13 carries and scored once.

Crenshaw’s nine-yard touchdown run on the first play of the second quarter gave Sylmar (3-1-1, 2-0 in league play) a 13-0 lead.

Spartan quarterback Eddie Lopez completed eight of nine passes for 128 yards and also scored Sylmar’s final touchdown on a six-yard run in the four quarter.

Monroe quarterback Aaron Arnold completed 11 of 18 for 135 yards and threw two interceptions.

Sylmar, defending City Section 4-A Division champion, held Monroe (1-4, 0-2) to minus-12 yards rushing.
