Not a lot of kicks: Loara’s Tony Norris would like to forget the Saxons’ Empire League opener Friday night against Katella.
His first-quarter, 31-yard field-goal attempt was deflected by Katella’s Eric Schirmacher. Then his second-quarter conversion attempt went awry when he had to recover a bad snap from center and his subsequent pass to the end zone was intercepted.
With 1:05 left, his 32-yard field-goal attempt was wide right. The final score: 14-14.
