Hansen Is Main Man Again at Ventura
Consistency is the hallmark of Simi Valley driver Scott Hansen, who drove to victory in the 30-lap USAC three-quarter midget main event Saturday night at Ventura Raceway.
Hansen, the only three-quarter driver to win a feature in each of the last five seasons, won his fourth main event of the year. Hansen moved up a notch to second in the point standings behind J.J. Ercse of Bellflower.
Page Jones of Torrance won the 30-lap midget main-event, holding off points leader Robby Flock of Temecula and George Ito of Ventura for his third feature victory overall and second at Ventura this season.
Shane Scully of Encino won the 12-lap three-quarter semi-main event. Randy Moody of Ventura, Hansen, Jim Brusseau of Pasadena and Jason Leffler of Long Beach each won three-quarter heat races.
