Grand Jewel, the only 3-year-old in the field, scored a record-tying 1 1/4-length victory in the $110,700 Fayette Stakes at Keeneland on Sunday.

Ridden by Jerry Bailey, the son of Java Gold ran 1 1/8 miles in 1:46 4/5 to equal the stakes and track record set by Good Command six years ago.

Grand Jewel, sixth when he passed the finish line for the first time, caught Secreto’s Hideaway at the top of the stretch and then held off Split Run.
