Suspended Washington sophomore wide receiver Jason Shelley could be allowed to play again next season if he stays out of trouble, Coach Jim Lambright said.

Lambright said he would allow Shelley to rejoin the team as early as spring if he fulfills certain conditions, including abiding by the law.

Shelley faces trial in two weeks on a second-degree assault charge. He is accused of punching another student, breaking the student’s jaw, during a pickup basketball game March 31 on campus.
