VENTURA : Man Arrested Over Hit-and-Run Crash
A man was in custody Thursday after his semi-truck, barreling down Victoria Avenue near Ventura at 55 m.p.h., slammed into two cars that were waiting at a red light and then drove off, authorities said.
No one was seriously injured in the crash, but two people were treated at Ventura County Medical Center for cuts and bruises.
The California Highway Patrol said they had not determined why the man did not stop his truck at the intersection of Victoria Avenue and Olivas Park Drive in an unincorporated area between Ventura and Oxnard.
The man, whose name was not released, was stopped a few miles away on Victoria by Oxnard police officers, who turned him over to CHP officers about 8 p.m.
