NEWHALL — The Master’s College men’s soccer team will make its fifth consecutive appearance in the NAIA District III finals today, facing host Westmont at 1 p.m.
Junior Paul Smith scored on a penalty kick in the 63rd minute Wednesday to give The Master’s (14-5) a 1-0 semifinal win over Biola. However, the Mustangs will play today without star forward Ezequiel Bongarra, who suffered a dislocated elbow midway through the first half of the semifinal. Bongarra leads the Mustangs with 16 goals this season.
Top-seeded Westmont (15-3-3) advanced to the championship match with a 3-1 win over Point Loma.
