Westlake 42, Santa Barbara 26--Westlake (8-2-1) scored three touchdowns in a span of 5:29 in the second half at Thousand Oaks High to eliminate Santa Barbara (8-3), co-champion of the Channel League.

After a sluggish start in which the Warriors fumbled the first three times they touched the ball, Westlake generated a pair of seven-play, 80-yard scoring drives in the second quarter. Craig Walendy (87 yards in nine carries, two touchdowns) scored on a 12-yard run to cap the first drive and Kevin Crook completed a 10-yard pass to Billy Miller for the second score to give Westlake a 14-12 edge at halftime.

Crook completed eight of his first nine passes and finished with 224 yards, completing 14 of 24. Miller had 10 receptions for 136 yards and caught two touchdown passes. Jason Bedell rushed for 74 yards in 12 carries.
