Atascadero 41, Moorpark 7--Atascadero ran its simple game plan to perfection and ended the most successful season in Moorpark history.

Jasch Janowicz carried 25 times for 257 yards and three touchdowns, to overshadow Moorpark’s running back Bryan Wilkins. The midseason transfer had 69 yards in 10 carries and was unable to get the Musketeers on track.

Host Atascadero (11-1) jumped to a 14-0 first-quarter lead and then held off two Moorpark drives. Jarrett Courtney’s 32-yard field goal attempt was blocked, and Moorpark’s other drive stalled at the Greyhound 28.

Janowicz, a 165-pound running back, then carried the ball eight consecutive times for 69 yards to set up a three-yard touchdown run by Mike Kerns.

The Musketeers (9-2-1) scored midway in the fourth quarter when reserve quarterback Bryan Paul connected with Art Hoffman on a four-yard touchdown pass.

Tyler Dritz, the starting quarterback, completed nine of 18 for 84 yards.

In the winningest season in school history, Moorpark won a playoff game for the first time and won its first league title in more than a half-century.
