OUTLOOK

Vaccaro tops the list of returning lettermen for Liberty Christian, which shared the Academy League title last season with St. Margaret’s. Vaccaro, a first-team, all-league selection last year, was the team’s top rebounder and has been among the top five in Orange County the last two years. McClung led the team in assists last season, but has been moved to shooting guard. He and Avery will be asked to direct the offense. Story will add some much-needed height to the interior and take some rebounding pressure off Vaccaro. A short bench is the only weakness for the Minutemen, who will be trying to get past the Southern Section quarterfinals, where they have been stopped the past three seasons. Sass hopes a tough nonleague schedule will prime the Minutemen for Academy League play. The league opener, Jan. 11 against St. Margaret’s, should be a major test as both teams split their two meetings.
