Former Hart High quarterback Ryan Connors, facing two felony charges and one misdemeanor charge stemming from a July auto accident, waived his preliminary hearing in Newhall Municipal Court Monday and is scheduled for arraignment in Newhall Superior Court Dec. 20.

By waiving his preliminary hearing, Connors agreed that he was involved in a July 23 collision that caused serious injuries to Gregory C. Moore, 30, a student at CalArts in Valencia. Police reports allege that Connors had been driving at a high speed on San Fernando Road when the collision occurred.

Connors faces charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with a blood-alcohol level 0.08% or above (both felonies) and reckless driving causing injury.

The Los Angeles County Probation Department last month recommended a prison term not to exceed six years, according to prosecuting attorney Steve Barron. On Monday, Barron offered a reduced sentence for Connors in exchange for a guilty plea during the arraignment: a maximum of two years in state prison.
