Woodland Hills Man Held Over Moorpark Burglary
Ventura County sheriff’s deputies arrested a Woodland Hills man for burglarizing a woman’s home while posing as a real estate agent, authorities said Monday.
A sheriff’s deputy said Gary Miller, 24, told a Moorpark woman he was a real estate agent and wanted to look at her house, which is listed for sale. After entering the woman’s house, Miller stole jewelry from her dresser drawer, the deputy said.
When he left, the woman called authorities and provided a detailed description of the man and his car.
Deputies said they arrested Miller in front of a nearby house listed for sale. He is being held without bail based on a previous parole violation and on suspicion of burglary, a deputy said.
Deputies said Miller is suspected of committing the same crime at three other houses in Moorpark and Thousand Oaks. They said they are looking into the possibility that he is responsible for other burglaries in the area.
