CS Northridge Wastes 13-Point Lead, Loses
San Diego State had to work overtime, but the Aztecs made the effort worth it with a 90-85 nonconference victory at Cal State Northridge on Tuesday night.
Derric Croft scored 25 points for San Diego State, including the first seven in overtime as the Aztecs won on the road for the first time in 11 months.
Northridge (1-8) held a 70-57 lead with 6:09 to play in regulation before San Diego State (4-2) went on a 19-5 run in a little more than five minutes.
A 10-foot shot by Marc Carter with two seconds left sent the game into overtime.
Andre Chevalier scored a career-high 28 points for Northridge. Peter Micelli added 25 points and Brooklyn McLinn had 11.
Carter finished with 16 points for San Diego State. Chris Walters added 14 and Matt Ambrose had 10.
