Covington, a first-team All-South Coast League selection, completed 58% of his passes for more than 1,700 yards last season.

“Obviously, it’s a great opportunity,” Covington said. “I’ll get to play for a team that can contend for the national championship every year.”

“I guess that shows I was important to them,” Covington said. “They have a situation where they need a quarterback and they need one quick. I’m very excited.”
