A 4-year-old boy taken last weekend from his foster home in Rancho Santa Margarita was sighted Wednesday with his biological parents in Anaheim, the Sheriff’s Department reported.

An unidentified witness spotted Taj Yaser Jayyusi and the couple in a car going westbound on Orange Avenue from Beach Boulevard at 4:40 p.m., authorities said.

When Taj disappeared Saturday morning, authorities said they feared that Yaser Majed Jayyusi, 55, a Jordanian national, and Deborah Ann Jayyusi, 35, might attempt to flee the country with the boy, who has been in foster care for two years. The couple also have a daughter in foster care in Orange County.

Authorities would not reveal why the two children were removed from the Jayyusis’ home. The Jayyusis are permitted weekly, court-monitored visits with the children.

Police believe the boy was taken from a garage that had been converted to a playroom, while his foster mother was taking a shower. The foster mother, Susan White, said the garage door was open about a foot.

White, 43, had started adoption proceedings, and a hearing to terminate the Jayyusis’ parental rights was scheduled for Wednesday.

Anyone with information regarding Taj is asked to call the Sheriff’s Department at (714) 647-7000.

The Jayyusis were driving a yellow 1980 Oldsmobile Delta, according to Lt. Dan Martini.
