St. Louis Cardinal pitcher Bob Tewksbury lost his arbitration case Saturday, but at $3.5 million was awarded the highest salary given a player who lost a hearing. Earlier, New York Yankee pitcher Terry Mulholland lost when the arbitrator picked the team’s $3.35-million offer rather than the pitcher’s $4.05-million request.
