Jim Doyle’s single with two outs in the bottom of the ninth drove in Sean Kicherer to give host UC Riverside a 7-6 victory over Cal State Fullerton Tuesday. The loss stopped the Titans’ 11-game winning streak.

Fullerton led, 6-5, entering the bottom of the ninth. Riverside had two on and two out when Titan relief pitcher Ted Silva struck out Dan Redington. But catcher Brian Loyd’s passed ball allowed Redington to reach base, and after Silva hit third baseman Scott Laverty to tie it, 6-6, Doyle delivered the game-winning hit.

The second-ranked Titans (12-2) rallied for two runs in the ninth inning on a suicide squeeze by designated hitter Bret Hemphill and a sacrifice fly by Jim Betzsold.
