Movie’s NC-17 Rating Upheld: The Rating Appeals Board run by the Motion Picture Assn. of America and the National Assn. of Theater Owners has upheld the rating for Martin Lawrence’s upcoming comedy concert film, “You So Crazy.” Lawrence appealed the rating board’s original decision last week, citing a responsibility to uphold the concept of free speech. Lawrence and Miramax Films were hoping for an R rating, which would allow children under 17 to see the film if accompanied by their parents. The chairman of the Classification and Rating Administration said the rating was upheld solely because of the film’s language. The film is scheduled to be released March 4.
