BASKETBALL ROUNDUP : Girls’ Playoffs
Crenshaw 68, South Gate 45--The Cougars eliminated the Rams from the playoffs for the third consecutive year in a City 4-A quarterfinal playoff game Friday at South Gate.
Crenshaw, the defending 4-A champions, opened the second quarter with the first nine points, using a 27-4 run to build a 35-14 lead with 2:46 left before halftime.
Freshman forward Naila Moseley had 22 points--16 in the second half--and grabbed 11 rebounds for Crenshaw. Kimberly Howse had 15 points and 17 rebounds, and Kristi Lattin scored 15 points for the Cougars.
Myrna Arreola paced South Gate with 18 points.
