TUSTIN : 8 District Students Win Arts Awards
Eight students from the Tustin school district have won awards in an art competition sponsored by the California Federation of Women’s Clubs, Orange County District.
The students’ work was submitted to the Tustin Area Women’s Club.
Among the winners were Mei-Mei Peng and Jennifer Landa, both students at Foothill High School. They will compete in the state finals in May.
Peng placed first in the grades 10-11 category, while Landa topped the photography competition.
The other winners were Sandra Rogoff, Arroyo Elementary School, grades K-3; Kristen Johnson, Arroyo Elementary School, third place, grades 4-6; Daniel Harris, Columbus Tustin Middle School, third place, grades 7-9; and Brian Park, Tustin High School, second place, grades 7-9.
Also, David Metzger of Foothill High School won third place in the grades 10-11 category, and Laurice Hwang of Foothill High School took third place among graduating seniors.
