O.C. Man Pleads Guilty to Weapons Charge

Share

A Costa Mesa man has pleaded guilty to possessing a sawed-off shotgun and faces up to 10 years in prison, authorities said Tuesday.

Josh D. Lee, 23, who was arrested last July by federal agents who were investigating an alleged plot by skinheads in Orange and Los Angeles counties, entered the plea Friday in Federal District Court. He was scheduled to begin trial Tuesday on the federal weapons charge.

Authorities say that although Lee was arrested during the skinhead investigation, there is no evidence that he was a white supremacist or harbored racist views. At his sentencing, which is scheduled for June 13, Lee faces a 10-year prison term, three years’ supervised probation and a $250,000 fine.
