OUTLOOK

The Knights hit hard, but finished last a year ago. The lack of consistent pitching did them in. Sedoo begins his 35th season with a young team, but does have a two promising returners. Pickler, the son of Cypress College Coach Scott Pickler, was a second-team all-league pick a year ago. He hit .425 and scored 22 runs. Pickler might be the most talented all-around player in the league. King, who hit better than .300, is one of the best base stealers in the league. He swiped 17 last season. Daft was the Knights’ quarterback in the fall and possesses a strong throwing arm and good leadership abilities. Whether he can hit enough to take pressure off Pickler remains to be seen. Milton will be the team’s only experienced pitcher. The rest of the spots will be filled by newcomers. Sedoo says the group is competitive and has an excellent work ethic. Whether they have enough talented to get Foothill out of the cellar is still to be seen.
