PREP ROUNDUP : No. 4 Dana Hills Upsets No. 1 Oilers in Boys’ Volleyball
Behind some strong blocking, Dana Hills upset top-ranked Huntington Beach, 15-5, 16-14, 15-13, in a nonleague boys’ volleyball match Friday at Huntington Beach High.
Matt Clem had nine kills and eight blocks, and Neil Hewko had nine kills and five blocks for the Dolphins (2-0), ranked fourth in the Orange County preseason poll.
Jeremy Darner added 10 kills and Bob Hefty had seven kills and five blocks for Dana Hills (2-0).
Mike Grave and Nick Ziegler each had six kills for the host Oilers (0-1), the defending Southern Section Division I champions who finished 23-0 last season.
